My Life Goals and Future Plans

To share a little of my own personal history, and a little less of ancestry history on this page, I want to share a few of my life goals and future plans in general, as well as those that pertain to or relate to genealogy work.

#1The more I have loved to learn about my family of the past, the more I have yearned to make them more a part of my life. In a small, simple way of incorporating those of my past to my own life, my own family that is happening now, I have a goal or plan to name our children after one of my husbands or my ancestors. I like the idea of creating an opportunity to get to know the names from the past, but not just their names, but their lives, and everything that they were and are. In naming my children after our ancestors I plan on teaching my children about the particular ancestor they were named after, and the different things they accomplished in their lives, as a way to give them an example they can look to and follow, and also just get to know someone in our family they were named after. It is also through this that I hope to create an early interest in my children about genealogy work and the great things we can do for them, because of all the things they have done for us.

#2 Another goal that my husband and I have tried to incorporate into our lives is at the beginning of each year we create a family mission plan, a formal document that we make for our family that states different goals we have for the year in striving to be better missionaries by either helping inactive people, help introduce the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to someone that has never before been a part of it, and then lastly, goals in being able to do work for not just people in general that have past on, but for those that are in our family lines. We make weekly and monthly goals specific to how we can strive to meet these goals. We don't always reach our goals, or may fall short in some areas, but we do the best we can to help share the wonderful "good news" of the gospel with others whether they are dead or alive.

#3 It has always been one of my dream or life goals to serve a mission. Since I didn't get the opportunity before I got married, it is now my husband and mines goal to serve at least one, maybe more missions after our children are raised and out of the house. As a big part of this goal, in making this happen, it is also our goals to be wise in managing our money so that we can afford these blessings later on in our lives. And also as a part of this goal we plan to eat and live healthy, so that when the time comes that we can serve missions, we will have the strength and wellness in our bodies to actually make this dream a reality.

#4 I think a final all inclusive goal and plan that I have that would like to share, is a daily living goal that will hopefully make all my other goals possible and build me to where I want to be in the end. I want to live the kind of life, each and every day, like it is my last. We really never know the day and hour that we will return to that God that gave us life, and I when that day comes, I want to have filled my life with knowing that I did everything I could to the best of my ability to live worthy and be the daughter God hoped I would be. I want to live the kind of daily good life that I have built up that will be of worth to my family that I hope and long to be with forever, and that my sealing to them will be made sure because  I did everything I could in my power to live worthy of being with them in the end.
